Professional qualifications

Our mountain guides are certified by the UIAGM/IFMGA and registered with the Alto Adige / Südtirol professional college of mountain guides (Collegio provinciale delle Guide Alpine), in accordance with Italian Law 6/1989 on the mountain guide profession. Hiking tours are led by licensed mid-mountain hiking guides registered with the same provincial authority.

Insurance

Professional liability insurance for guiding activities and accident/mountain-rescue cover for guests during tours are held with insurers licensed in Italy. Territorial scope: Italy.

Consumer dispute resolution

In accordance with Articles 141 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005), consumers may seek out-of-court resolution of disputes through an accredited ADR body. After first contacting our customer service, you may also use the mediation service of the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce (Organismo di mediazione della Camera di Commercio di Bolzano).

This Privacy Policy informs you, in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018), about the processing of personal data on this website and in the course of our guiding services.

2. What data we process

• Booking requests: name, email address, phone number, tour, date, number of participants – to process your booking (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Participant data: names of participants and, where voluntarily provided, information relevant to safety (e.g. medical conditions, fitness level) – processed solely to conduct the tour safely; health-related information is processed only with your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR) and deleted after the tour.
• Contact enquiries: name, email address, message content – to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Server log data: IP address (shortened), date, time, page accessed, browser type – to ensure technical security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); deleted after 7 days.
• Cookies: see Section 5 below.

3. Retention periods

Enquiry data is deleted no later than 6 months after the communication ends if no booking is made. Booking and invoice data is retained for 10 years in accordance with Article 2220 of the Italian Civil Code. Safety-relevant participant information is deleted no later than 30 days after the tour, unless required for the handling of an insurance claim.

4. Recipients of the data

Data is shared exclusively with: payment service providers (payment processing), our insurers (to provide the included accident cover and in the event of a claim), mountain huts (name lists for overnight stays on multi-day treks), and our accountants (statutory retention). No data is transferred to third countries outside the EU/EEA.

5. Cookies and consent

This website uses strictly necessary cookies (to store your cookie preferences and manage sessions) in accordance with the guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) of 10 June 2021. Statistics and marketing cookies are only set with your express consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you grant via the cookie banner and may withdraw at any time with future effect via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.

7. Obligation to provide data

Providing your contact and participant data is necessary for concluding and performing a tour booking. Without this data we cannot accept the booking.

8. No automated decision-making

No profiling or automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

General Terms and Conditions of Dolomite Peaks Adventures S.r.l., Via Marconi 18, 39100 Bolzano (hereinafter the "Operator"). Last updated: 1 July 2026.

Article 1 – Scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts for guided tours, courses and related services between the Operator and its guests. Deviating terms of the guest shall not apply unless the Operator expressly agrees to them in writing.

Article 2 – Conclusion of contract

The tour presentations on the website do not constitute a binding offer. By submitting the booking form, the guest makes a binding offer. The contract is concluded upon the Operator's booking confirmation in text form (email), which is issued after availability has been checked – normally within 2 hours on business days.

Article 3 – Prices and payment

All prices are per person in euros and include the statutory Italian VAT of currently 22%, the certified guide, group safety equipment and accident/mountain-rescue insurance for the tour duration. Group discounts (10% from 4 participants, 15% for a full group of 8) apply to the tour price only. Payment is due upon booking confirmation by credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer.

Article 4 – Participation requirements

Each tour states minimum age, fitness and experience requirements. The guest confirms at booking that all participants meet them. The guide may exclude participants whose equipment, condition or behaviour endangers themselves or the group; in this case the tour price is not refunded. Minors participate only when accompanied by a legal guardian or with their written consent.

Article 5 – Weather and safety cancellations by the Operator

Mountain tours depend on conditions. If the Operator cancels a tour for safety reasons (weather, avalanche risk, route conditions), the guest chooses between a full refund of all payments and free rebooking to another date or tour. Further claims – in particular for travel and accommodation costs – are excluded except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

Article 6 – Route changes

The guide may modify the route or programme where safety or group ability requires it. Such modifications do not entitle the guest to a price reduction, provided the character of the tour is substantially preserved.

Article 7 – Guest cancellations

The cancellation terms set out in the Booking & Cancellation policy apply: free cancellation up to 7 days before the tour; 50% of the tour price between 7 days and 48 hours; 100% thereafter or in the case of a no-show. The guest remains free to prove that the Operator incurred no loss or a significantly lower loss.

Article 8 – Insurance and personal risk

The included insurance covers accidents and mountain-rescue costs during the tour. It does not replace personal travel, health or cancellation insurance, which the Operator recommends. Mountain sports involve inherent risks that remain with the participant even under professional guidance; the guest acknowledges this at booking.

Article 9 – Liability

The Operator is liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health caused by a breach of its duties. In cases of simple negligence, it is liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Liability for the loss of personal items on the tour is excluded except where caused by the Operator's fault.

Article 10 – Equipment

Rented equipment must be returned undamaged at the end of the tour; damage beyond normal wear is charged at repair or replacement cost. Personal technical equipment provided for via ferrata and climbing tours (harness, helmet, ferrata set) is certified and inspected in accordance with the applicable standards.

Article 11 – Dispute resolution and final provisions

Consumers may seek out-of-court resolution through an accredited ADR body pursuant to Articles 141 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code, including the mediation service of the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce, after first contacting our customer service. These Terms are governed by Italian law. For consumers, the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile has mandatory jurisdiction (Article 66-bis of the Consumer Code); for business customers, the Court of Bolzano has jurisdiction. Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.

Statutory right of withdrawal – important notice for tour bookings

Under Article 59(1)(n) of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005), the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. Guided tours, courses and treks booked for a specific date therefore cannot be withdrawn from under the statutory regime once the booking is confirmed.

In place of the statutory right, we voluntarily grant the generous cancellation terms below – in most cases more flexible than the statutory minimum would be.

Our voluntary cancellation terms

• Up to 7 days before the tour date: free cancellation, 100% refund of all payments within 14 days.
• 7 days to 48 hours before the tour: cancellation fee of 50% of the tour price; extras (equipment rental, pickup) are refunded in full.
• Less than 48 hours before the tour, or no-show: cancellation fee of 100% of the tour price.
• Free rebooking to another date or tour is possible up to 48 hours before the start, subject to availability.
• Substitute participants: you may name a substitute who meets the tour requirements at any time before the start, free of charge.

You remain free to prove that we incurred no loss or a significantly lower loss. Refunds are always made to the original means of payment.

Cancellation by us – weather and safety

If our guide cancels a tour for safety reasons (weather, avalanche risk, route conditions), you choose between a full refund of everything you paid and free rebooking to any other date or tour. This choice is yours – we never force a voucher.

Please state your booking reference, the tour date and the names of the participants. The date of receipt of your message determines which cancellation tier applies.

Withdrawal for services without a fixed date

For services not tied to a specific date (e.g. open-dated gift vouchers), consumers retain the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Articles 52 et seq. of the Consumer Code from the day of purchase. To exercise it, use the contact details above; we will refund all payments within 14 days using the original means of payment.

Travel insurance recommendation

We recommend taking out personal trip-cancellation insurance covering illness, injury and travel disruption. The accident insurance included in our prices covers the tour itself, not your journey or accommodation.
